Prominent Baloch Doctor shot dead in Balochistan

QUETTA: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Balochistan chapter President Dr Mazar Baloch succumbed to his injuries in Karachi on Saturday.
Dr Mazar was shot and injured by assailants in the provincial capital on Friday night. “He received eight bullets on his upper torso and was shifted to Karachi’s Agha Khan Hospital from Quetta in critical condition where he breathed his last,” doctors said. The slain, Dr Mazar Baloch, was an orthopedic surgeon at Bolan Medical Complex.
Meanwhile, doctors did not attend to patients at state-run hospitals in Quetta on Saturday to protest the killing of Dr Mazar Baloch. PMA General Secretary Dr Faiz Hashmi demanded the government and law-enforcement agencies to take action against the culprits behind the murder.
“At least four doctors were killed and two are still missing in Balochistan. None of the case was properly investigated by the government and its subordinate institutions,” he complained.
