Baloch school teacher gunned down in Quetta

Islamabad, June 20 — A Pakistani social activist and vice principal of a government school was shot dead by motorcycle-borne gunmen in Quetta city, police said. Mir Nazir Marri, of the Government Killi Sheikhan High School, was on his way to school Tuesday when the unidentified attackers riding a motorcycle rained bullets at him in Arbab Karam Khan Road of the Quetta city, the Daily Times reported Wednesday. Police said Marri was also a social activist and relative of Marri tribe chief Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri. Following the murder, enraged students of the school came out and staged protests in several areas of the Balochistan provincial capital. They burnt tyres, forced shops to close and also damaged traffic signals. No one has claimed responsibility for the killing. The All Government Teachers Association has threatened to close schools for an indefinite period if the killers were not traced and arrested. http://india.nydailynews.com/business/84fef0909eb8bb54ed47014e1d042557/pakistani-school-teacher-gunned-down-in-quetta
