QUETTA: A senior journalist and member of Khuzdar Press Club Munir Shakir was gunned down in Khuzdar district on Sunday.
Shakir, 43, was heading home on his motorcycle when unidentified armed men opened fire on him on HospitalRoad. He was taken to District Headquarters Hospitalwhere he succumbed to injuries. No group has yetclaimed responsibility for the killing.
Shakir worked for Balochi news channel Sabzbat Balochistan, TV One and the wire service of Online NewsNetwork.
Born on May 7, 1968, in Khatan area of Khuzdaar, Sabir had been associated with the press for the last seven to eight years. He has left behind a widow, two sons and three daughters.
