GENEVA: A parallel event and demonstration on the human rights situation in Balochistan was held at the ongoing 18th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). The title of the event was‘Climate of Fear: Enforced Disappearances, Extra-judicial Killings, and Arbitrary Detention in Balochistan’. Speakers at the event were Baloch activist and representative to the UNHRC Noordin Mengal, former senator Sanauallah Baloch, Baloch Human Rights Council Secretary General Samad Baloch, World Sindhi Congress Secretary General Lakhu Luhana and the representative of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation, Lisa Thomas.
