Strike observed against kidnapping of Hindu Traders in Kalat



QUETTA: Complete shutter down strike was observed in Kalat on Saturday protesting against the kidnapping of three Hindu traders in Jiwa intersection of RCD Highway in Tehsil Surab, Kalat District, some 140 miles away from provincial capital on Friday night. The Hindu traders were identified as Denesh Kumar S/O Nand Lal, Retesh Kumar s/o Babo and Rathan Kumar s/o Bagwan Das were on way from Khuzdar to Kalat in passenger wagon when some unknown armed men stopped the passenger wagon at Jiwa Intersection. They made them hostage at gunpoint and kidnapped them and fled towards an unknown place. The strike call was given by the Hindu Panchyat and supported by the Shaheri Action Committee, Traders Union, Kalat and all major political parties. All the shops and markets and roadside hotels were remained closed for the day. The Hindu Community, Traders, leaders and workers of political parties stage a protest demonstration on main road. They chanted full throat slogans against the government and the police for failure to protect life and honour of the law abiding citizens. They demanded from government to use all available resources for the early and safe recovery of kidnapped shopkeepers. They warned that they will intensify their protest if kidnappers were not traced, identified and punished severely. The protesters also blocked the Quetta-Karachi RCD Highway for five hours in Kalat and condemned the kidnapping of three Hindu traders. The large number of vehicles were stuck up and they were seen in an unending queue on both sides of the main RCD Highway.
