The Baloch and Balochistan: A Historical Account from the Beginning to the Fall of the Baloch State
Press release
Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC) UK, World Sindhi Congress (WSC) and Sindhi Baloch Forum are organizing an event to launch Dr. Naseer Dashti’s book on the Baloch history.
‘The Baloch and Balochistan: a historical account from the beginning to the fall of the Baloch state’ is Dr. Naseer Dashti's latest book on Baloch history. It is a thought provoking and comprehensive work on the history of the Baloch and Balochistan from Aryan migrations up to 1948.
Dr. Naseer Dashti has scholarly explained the origin of Baloch and their homeland and shed light on the history of an ancient people that to date has received the attention that it deserves. It was an urgent need of the time to provide academic answers regarding the Baloch history. For instance, who are the Baloch? From where they originated ad how they came finally to present regions of Balochistan? How a confederacy of nomadic tribes converted into a nation, carving out a nation state? How their state finally vanished in 1948? Besides answering these pertinent questions about the Baloch, Dr. Dashti also elaborated the social aspects of those events, which occurred in the Baloch society throughout their tortuous history.
The event to launch the book will be held in the University of London on 1st December 2012 in which the Baloch and Sindhi scholars, writers and activists will deliberate on various aspects of the book.
